2024 EVENT UPDATE:

Dear Newfoundland and Labrador community, thank you for 41 years of riding.

 

We are so incredibly grateful for the support and compassion of the community. Ride for Sight has helped Fighting Blindness Canada raise over $40M towards our sight saving research mission. After much analysis, we made the difficult decision to cancel some of the annual fundraising events in 2024, including Ride for Sight, Gander. Our deep-felt thanks and appreciation to you, the town of Gander team and volunteers, for your support over 41 years. Your contributions have been the fuel for many of our groundbreaking research and community programs.

This decision was not made lightly, as we recognize Ride for Sight was near and dear to many people’s hearts. In the coming year, Fighting Blindness Canada will be planning new accessible fundraising opportunities and we’ll share more as the plans develop. I want to assure you that our future fundraising engagements will continue to bring our community together and will remain an integral part of Fighting Blindness Canada.

 

As the leading charitable funder of vision research in Canada, Fighting Blindness Canada relies on the generosity of individuals and companies like you! While Ride for Sight is not happening this year, there are still so many reasons and ways you can continue to be involved in the fight against blindness.

Join us this year as we launch our first ever MOVE FOR SIGHT virtual event. Walk, stretch, skip, run, cycle, dance, cook, bake, hike, yoga, knit! Help us MOVE vision research forward. Register a team or take part as in individual. Chose a MOVE challenge that works for you and your loved ones and take part anyway from anywhere! At Fighting Blindness Canada, it remains an exciting time for vision research, so much more is known now, treatments are being developed, and in some cases - sight has been restored. Still, we have more to do for families and loved ones. We invite you to remain steadfast in your support and help us continue to make a difference.
